Got my new jacking point cover for my LCR and need to paint it. Just been to Halfords thinking I'd be able to just pick up a can of spray paint but the don't seem to have the right colour :/

The log book for my car says platinum silver it's the classic grey seat colour. The only colour that Halfords had listed was artic silver which is the bright silver colour I think.

Is there somewhere online I can get the right paint to spray the (plastic) jacking point cover? Or am I better off looking for a body shop to do it?

I sprayed one of mine with Halfords flash red and it is absolutely spot on. If you can find the right colour I wouldnt hesitate to do it yourself.

Halford have a custom paint mixing service at many stores . They will mix the paint from the factory paint code ( see label under carpet in boot to left of spare wheel well) and put it in an aerosol for you .
If your halfords does not do it you can get the same service at your local CAR paint supplier . They supply aerosols ready custom mixed to body shops for very small jobs like bumper scratchs .
Be aware that aerosol 1 pack paint is not as durable as 2 pack paint . There fore it is not that good for areas that suffer stone chips . Two pack paint cures by chemical reaction and that makes it much tougher and chip ressistant. However it is not sold to the public because the reaction releases cyanide that causes permenant lung damage. For this reason I always get stone chip prone areas done by a body shop in two pack . Otherwise you have to keep redoing it every couple of years . Dont be tempted to try 2 pack at home . The lung damage is irriversable . Body shops have air fed helmets to spray it .

wise words. and a good answer!!

Use some 2k spray max clear ontop of halfords colours I've never had an issue, but as said use a decent A2 P2 respirator with goggles gloves and overalls it's very dangerous stuff if inhaled, but 2k clear is very durable, and you can build up much thicker glossy coats quicker, gives a pro finish, in the right hands.
