Spare wheel for leon fr 184 question

Hello I'm looking to source a space saver for my car. I'm currently running 17 alloys and have found an 18 inch spare, would this be OK?

Sorry if it has been asked before but I cant find it. I have a mk3 leon fr 184 and I'm under the impression a 16 wouldn't fit and a 17 is hard to find / more expensive as is a spare alloy.

Is it a spare wheel in the form of a space saver you want, or a 5th alloy/steel wheel?

16s won't fit over the brake calipers but an 18 will be fine, however its not best practice to have different sized wheels fitted.

My suggestion would be just buy any old 17 steel wheel/space saver from any VAG group vehicle and it should fit - plenty of them on Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree etc.

18 inch space saver will fit and be fine (assuming it’s vag group). Have you got a hatch or estate? Estates should be able to fit a full sized wheel but looking at my hatchback boot I don’t think a full sized wheel would fit
