Rightey. Took the valver for a spirited drive around some B roads for the first time since having it at the weekend. I have a few questions/thoughts that you guys may be able to shed some light upon!

1. Does anyone else find that there is a fair bit of understeer to their 16v while cornering? (my old 8v didnt have anywhere near as much...then again it didnt have the speed in the high revs :p)

2. I have a whining noise while accerlerating; the more I accelerate the higher the pitch of the whine...kind of like how I imagine a supercharger sounding. Am I right in thinking that the first thing to change would be drive belts?(cam belt done 15k ago)

3.My engine seems quite loud...I've got a custom exhaust (nothing too loud) and a k&n panel filter in. I also changed the oil to mobil 10w 40...but it seems loud still.

Any input appreciated :D

That could be something as simple as geometry, tyre pressure or the tyres themselves. Those factors make a big difference to how a car handles.

the front two are illegal...trying to hold on until i can get all 4 wheels refurbed!!! I'll put 1 down to that :)

When my car was sounding like that it was the water pump on it's way out!

Could also be the power steering pump on its way out. Mine had abit of a whine but it was hidden by my alternator bearings, came out to my car a couple of Thursdays ago to a nice puddle of power-steering fluid under the car.
