I'm also looking at getting a downpipe with sports cat, I am hoping to go to stage 2, although i do believe the recommendation for stage to is a Turbo Back Exhaust which is the full system.
Has anybody else had stage 2 with just the downpipe and CAI, if so what BHP are they seeing. Does the full exhaust make that much of a difference.

Uncle

I been looking at a sports cat aswell

Been to a few places near by and ive been quoted £500+ [:@]

I already have a Miltek K1 Catback, would one of these simply fit on? Or would i need to buy anything else as well
Also- How would it affect the exhaust note? [www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xP3xy10-CM&hd=1] <-- Thats how it currently sounds(Abit louder now since its been on the car longer), but i would like it louder :p

The one shown here is a 3" to 2.5", I would imagine that your miltek is a 3" although its probably fitted to your 2.5" OEM downpipe so this would probably fit . You must have a reducer on your miltek to go from the 2.5" OEM to the 3" Miltek. As this D/P goes from 3" TO 2.5" then it will probbaly fit although you would be better off getting a 3 " system D/P without the reducer as the reduction form 3" to 2.5 " will cause a restriction.

Yes, this has a 2.5" reducer to fit the oem exhaust! So the milltek will also have a 2.5" reducer to fit the oem downpipe!

So it will fit!

looks like a bargain to me, you may struggle come MOT time though, we had a mk2 S3 in the other day with a milltek turbo back, sports cat and it only just past, failed the BET so had a full catalyst test and scraped through.

The problem you have is you will have a 3" to 2.5" back to 3" which isn't the best way to go. You would be much better with the full 3" with no restriction. Unfortunately the D/P you are looking at has the reducer built in so it cant be removed unless you start cutting and welding in a new piece

I have a similar Product, decat pipe for £150 free delivery. The only thing it didnt come with was the V-band clamp to join the 2 sections together.

TBH I love mine! yes the emmisions light comes on, but im going to invest in a dionogistic tool to delete the codes. worked when my mate did it, just it will keep coming back on after a long journey.

And Uncle - Thats what I plan on doing, where i work we have a few lengths of 3" Stainless Steel and the guys here can bend and weld S/S.

I had the emissions light come on, after a 3 hour drive! I just used the VCDS to clear the code!

I can't decide whether to go Revo Stage 2 or Apr S2, as Revo insisting I have a intake, whereas apr don't!?

Can't see why you wouldn't put an intake on. You'll not see the full gains of Stage 2 without one. I'm sure APR would recommend one even if they don't claim it's essential.

I mean you can have stage 2+ code uploaded with just a HPFP, but you'll get very average results and it just isn't maximising the code.

Does the noise or cost of an intake put you off?

I'm not a fan of intakes, I personally think they are pointless unless you like the noise.

The real restriction on the engine is the exhaust/dp cat. Apr only wants you to add a panel filter.

I'm happy to lose the 8bhp potential of S2!

Sounds like your mind is made up. Are you Revo or APR at the moment (on phone so can be arsed to go thro the thread :eek:P)?

If you have the new code then both claim 320bhp @ Stage 1. Stage 2 will only see 340bhp with an intake, so minus you 8bhp is it worth it? Guess you'll get your EML coded out and 10-15bhp. If its a case of swapping tuners I'd guess it isn't worth it. If its free upgrade with APR then go for it. I believe Revo change about £50 between versions.

That is unless stage 1 doesn't really make 320BHP - but that's a different topic all together...lol

Rather than pay for VCDS you'd be better off with a stage 2 remap to code out the error which throws the EML, no?

Stage 2 is on the cards, but I dont have the money for it just yet, my clutch is on its way out so for stage 2 id want an uprated clutch and that will put me back £1400 give or take. then throw in £200 -£400 for a cold air intake then £500 for stage 2 of and £50 for an uprated DV (AMD recommend that) Thats comming to around £2000.

For the sake of £30 I can get a tool which will turn it off. But atm im not too fused with the little light on

Lmao - I can see your point!

Which clutch are you going for? My Stage 1 Sachs was £950 fitted about 18 months ago - guess they have gone up, a lot!

I think AMD said it was Sachs organic?? its the uprated clutch for stage 2, they want £1440 inc Vat to supply and install.

Is there much difference in stage 1 & 2.... i.e will a stage 2 cupra wipe the floor against stage 1? I know the power is only just better but I believe the S2 torque figures are much better!?

I have Revo stage 1 at the mo, so to go stage 2 with them:
1. Intake = £180
2. software = £60 + garage labour prob (£70?)

So looking at extra = £300+

APR
1. Panel filter = £35
2. software = £250

So roughly the same. I'm leaning towards Revo as I can adjest the settings, to save my clutch (don't need full power all the time)?

Or do I stay stage 1...... decisions, decisions!?

Depends who you believe mate. Some will say their Stage 1 code is producing 320bhp, others say 300-310. Stage 2 with all mods returns about 340bhp with similar torque. If you put your money in a second hand intake you'll still have your money in the hardware (rather than lose it in software once the car is sold) and you'll see high end performance gains with an intake.

My choice would be Revo and an induction kit - unless you're unhappy with your tuner I can't see the point in jumping ship. I'd certainly go Stage 2 for the sake of £60, but then again I'd see the intake as beneficial either way.

Do you know why your EML came on BTW? Is shouldn't be an exhaust error when running a sports cat.

At the AMD RR I went last year, Revo Stage 1 were achieving 300bhp (including mine) & S2 were around 330. Looks like I'll have to look out for a intake then or might just stay stage 1 as the sports cat must be giving it slightly more power!

Actually, I never checked what the fault code...... come to think about it, I got the odd emmissions EML before the sports cat & it was due to the charcoal canister! I've got the code saved, so will double check tonight what it was for!

I can confirm the EML was nothing to do with the sport cat!

As I suspected......

001089 - EVAP Emission Control Sys
P0441 - 002 - Incorrect Flow - Intermittent - MIL ON

= Charcoal Cannister (I must have over filled with fuel that time)!

What so putting one of these sports cats from ebay on doesnt make a light come on the dash? is that what your saying basically Jammy? I've been wanting one really as ive bought a milltek cat back and although it has added a noise when you put your foot down it isnt really that noisy and ive heard adding a dp and cat will make it sound nice, i dont really wanna be paying the price of a milltek tho
