Hey guys,

anyone using Spotify to play music via Bluetooth having any issues with being unable to change tracks or even reading it in the media unit? Mine only comes up with the phone's name (OnePus5T) and the only buttons available to press is the play/pause button, changing songs only available through the phone itself.

the MIB1 unit is updated with the latest software available.

Cheers

Spotify has been having known and documented issues with the app on both Android and iOS for the fast few weeks. More than likely its an app issue and nothing to do with the car. Here's a Reddit thread full of peoples current issues.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/9d5tvj/eight_days_after_my_previous_post_spotify_finally/

So I tried Jaco2k's method yesterday which did not work... After a long night of thread reading the issue is with the Android version itself more than Spotify. Android 8 (oreo) has loads of Bluetooth issues, so I downgraded my android version to Nougat (7.x.x) and it's now working, showing the correct metadata and allowing me to change songs using either the infotainment or the controls in the steering wheel.

Hope that helps anyone else able to downgrade their OS.
