Hi

Anyone have a squeaky seat, and I do mean the bit you sit on.
I've a Seat Altea 2.0 TDI Sport that I’m very impressed with especially having a 20VT Leon Cupra before (Petrol).

I've just got a few little points that need smoothing out.

Been to the dealership who looked at it straight away and fixed it for about a day....
I'll be in touch with them shortly to get it fixed but just wondered if anyone else had the problem?
It mainly happend when pushing back into the chair..

never had this problem but , on a few occasions my chairs hight has lowered while driving , you don't notice at first then you reach the point of driving with tip toes.

I've had the seat go down a few times but i thought that was because of the action when you get in, your leg pushes down on the arm !

my 2.0 sport had this from new, but i found if i moved the seat back and lumbar supports to another position, before putting it back to the original position it went away.
3000+ miles no squeak

That seems to have worked, done it first time it lasted a couple of days. But then done it again and 1 week all seems to be ok

Cheers.

Silicone spray under the seat usually cures squeaks.

Need to find exactly where you need to press to get it to squeak.

Or buy a cat to catch the mouse.

Simon.

The squeak is coming from the lumber support handle area ! when you push back in the chair.

1000 miles and seems to be ok....
