ST help! removing roof rails

Hi all, has anybody removed the roof rails on the ST if so how is it done, as would like to get the roof wrapped but ideally need the rails removing. Thanks in advance

So I emailed tech support and got no where, they told me to visit this website http://www.erwin.volkswagen.de/ which won't work, anyone familiar with that site?

Well this was already investigated on the Dutch Seat forum and the rails are bolted through the roof and secured by nuts from the inside so you can remove them but you have to take the roofliner out first.
But I think that is no option so then the answer is no.

^^^ This. I had a look on some Audi forums as the A4 and A6 have similar (if not identical) rails. They're bolted through and also sealed. If you don't get the new sealant right you could be asking for trouble with water ingress.
