Just been playing around online and i am amazed.

My Admiral renewal is £440 fully comp, protected NCB with mods declared.
Greenlight came back with £520, and doing a confused search the cheapest coming up is Elephant (yes Admirals sister) asking for £535.

Out of curiosity I do a confused search with NO mods and quite a few companies can insure me for under £200, and the Elephant quote is reduced by £200.

Fook me, I think they just make this **** up as they go along. I'm 37 with 15 years NCB do about 5k in the car a year, I don't use it for commuting and its locked up out of sight in my back yard pretty much all the time yet im being stung approx 200 green queens for my mods. Think I might actually get rid of the map and filter.

Aviva are always worth a try, ive been with them for nearly 5 years now and they have always been the cheapest. I'm on a multi-car policy with them and i pay £590 for mine an my wifes Fiat 500. 20k miles a year with full class 1 business cover and protected NCB.

I've just renewed with Bell (who are Admiral) and they were the cheapest I could find for my FR+ CR170.

I'm 34, 15 years NCB, 11k a year, Business use, Legal Cover, Guaranteed Car Hire, Stage 1 Remap (Revo) and Protected NCB for £440. I thought that was pretty reasonable.

Next time rry declaring it as an economy map for increased fuel economy due to the hard times. It sounds alot more subtle. I'm not mapped yet but I ive been with Admiral for years always been cheapest. Add a girlfriend as named driver and they give spouse discount of about 100. I'm on multi car policy now. My leon 140 tdi and Mrs 1.25 fiesta both insured fully comp with protected no claims 308 the pair

Had to give Admiral a call just to check whether I was going to auto-renew tomorrow or not, told the guy I was planning to be shopping around, and boom, £90 was slashed off my premium just like that.

So now its £360, I think i'm fairly happy with that.

Please tell me you never auto renew?

I remember after my first year... First insurance was £3600 and I had a renewal through of £2000, we thought that was good. Shopped around and rang them back up and it was instantly reduced to £1250.

Auto renewal prices are always more than you can get it for.

No I mean I had to call them to make sure it wouldnt auto renew. They dont post out the info anymore and so I didnt know whether they would or wouldnt, which card they had on file etc.

Expect I could save a few more quids if I spent the day on the phone, but it does seem like a more reasonable price, im balls deep in work I cant get out of to make calls, so im gonna go with Admiral again.
