Thanks mate - Thought it would make a change from the destructive comments you made above :)

No, this is just the aftermath from the self-destructive behaviour of the tuning company.

Had they been straight forward with myself and others stuff like this wouldnt happen. In the age of the world wide web and forums, companies can no longer get away with stuff like this anymore.

:lol: Playstation is better than xbox :p

come on guys the OP asked for advice and you turn it into another Revo V APR slanging match

To the OP get neither go see Will at P-Torque :D

Think this needs to finish up now, thankfully vdawg is in the very lucky position to be close to both of the most well known VAG Tuners out there

Some people will say go one way and others the other its the nature of the world and experiences that people have had with each company.

I'm pretty sure your ECU should be capable of demo software so why not try them both and see what one you prefer

from what i have heard from other people

Revo = Aggressive power
APR = Soother Power

Both will get you similar Maximum power but it will all come down to what you find more usable.

Poverty has been burned by Revo and that is why he has such strong feelings against them
Al has always been Revo and for him they have been great

Its all part of personal opinion and customer experience.

Ok maybe Revo got a little complacent and too cocky for their own good when APR all but left, but APR been back will mean they can nill afford to treat their customers like **** and personly i have no flat spot, no misfires and spark plugs last till the next service.

Lets not forget APR abandoned the UK an its customers apart from about 2 dealers which was unacceptable.

Poverty has had his troubles with Revo as you can probably tell with him trolling every remap thread and slating Revo, ok youve had a bad experience with them i think its time to move on now.

Agreed with Rob above :)

@ Irfan - I have not always had REVO by the way. An earlier map I had on a 1.8T Toledo was done by Star and as I understand it, may have been APR code. Other than that, a cheap (smokey) map on a Passat TDi, something Jap on my Scooby and got round to trying Revo on my last car.

Right lets go back over this again

APR did not abandon the UK or its customers

APR is an american company and they were trading via distributors in the UK
The major distributor decided for one reason or another to stop using them
APR looked at this and go we need to do something about it
then a massive investment from APR LLC to launch APR Motorsport UK
Since coming to the UK they have re secured the main distributor

To me this shows they are listening to people and customer feedback

(the above is how I understand things have happened so may not be 100% accurate)

Apologies Al I stand corrected but I think what I was trying to say still remains the same

In my eyes there customers were abandoned to a point 90% changed over to Revo during the amnesty and there dealer network crumbled to about 2 dealers.

Eventually and we are talking well over a year here, you make it sound like it was straight away, they came back with like you say a big investment and Keith one of there main men is now living here.

There customers were abandoned for well over year with no main distributor and very few dealers and that is unacceptable.

And you make it sound as if they done nothing, it takes time to organise a HQ in a different country

Customers were not abandoned, it was just harder work with them being based in America

These are the issues they have sorted out and they are doing everything they came here to do

I actually resent to being called a troll. If I was a troll I would have bought up Revo and the crap we had with them and the TTRS but I haven't. Don't even mention it in my build thread.

The original poster asked if APR was better than Revo. I gave my opinion, and to actually back it up, everyone on the differnent forums who has tried Revo and APR code back to back ended up choosing APR

Then customer care was bought up and I again shared my experiences.
