It's more a question of torque than power.

There are some 2.0-litre lumps running some big figures in both power & torque. I'd probably say anything above 450lbs is on borrowed time if run hard.

I would suggest the torque figures being quoted are on the higher side of life...
I know my own LC on "other" dyno made +20bhp more than mine but some 100lbft more also, which is just tosh

I had an ED30 for dyno earlier this week..
thought to be 360bhp, 348bhp was reality on my dyno, and 315lbft

Are these really 400lbft cars on stock k04?

My car made 338lbft which I thought was the norm for stage 2+ But reading that some are nearly 400lbft makes me wonder what's been done to them to have such a high figure.

i dont think people understand torque and bhp

torq + rpm = bhp

so its impossible to make x amount of torq at x amount of rpm and have more power than the next guy if both cars made them same torq at the same rpm

torq figures are normally quoted but people take the highest figure that is around 3krpm or somthing low in the rpm band and then quote max power that is at the top of teh rpm range

if you want to compare power and torq compare it at the same rpm that you made the most bhp and you will find you have almost identical torq

if a guy has more torq but same max bhp as you he will have a more aggresive map on the botom end i prefer to keep it progressive to save on wheel spin and keep the clutch in good order

wheelspin and high end torq gives the impression of a fast car but wheelspin will slow you down

so i think a more refinde progressive power band is the way forward
