Hi all, a good friend is buying a cupra :) and both have been looking at what to spend first so a few quick questions

Is there any exhaust systems what have a tailpie same as the exit? Just like on my own corsa VXR?

Secondly looking into turbos and superchargers and can't find any? Is this because no one has developed one yet?

And lastly what bhp is currently the highest for an Ibiza running of the 1.4 engine?

Cheers Everyone

If you're referring to the 1.4tsi engine which already runs a turbo and supercharger on the MK5 ibiza then no, there are no upgrades for the turbo or charger yet. There is a guy in Greece that changed the internals on his turbo but his mods have cost him alot of money and trial and error. Milltek and a few other I think now have systems out but the tail pipes wont be like your VXR unless you get one fabricated.

Sandard is 180PS
Stage 1 remap should net you around the 203BHP mark
Stage 2 with remap and TBE syatem should net you roughly 210BHP
Add a twintercooler, CAI to that and you should probs see round the 215BHP mark

With those mods you should see 0-60 times of about 5.5 seconds and a 13.6 second 1/4 mile - basically it would destroy your VXR :p

Powerflow do a tip. I think yeah_good_one had it or his mate.

And alot faster than a vxr ;) even standard. Absolutely no chance stage 1

Power flows tip is horrible its a D shape :L may be standered but my am stage 3 with Astra VXR clutch and flywheel and running a nice 252bhp :) and next week should be 260 after gone 580cc injectors and fuel pressure regulator ;D and this is why my friend has the modding bug do badly :D

And regarding the turbos as was talking about hybrids :) but to say how long the car has been out am supprised how little peformance mods there is, isn't there such a demand? But suppose it requires a owner to put there money where there mouth is :L luckily there is a bag tuner very local :)

Another thing has anyone had the gearbox tuned? The Garrage boasts +30% torque

And just to clarify stage one is a exhaust?

Just read that stage 1 is a remap :L on vxronline is a full system exhaust :p

5.5 seconds wow that's very fast! Has anyone proved such theory? :L because that is a low number :p

No, it's a remap. Exhaust is fine.

People have timed their cars with various (decent) equipments - largely at the dragstrips.

None of this 'on a mobile phone' stopwatch :)

It's quick, because you don't have the dwell while you change gear.

I did 5.5 secs at GTI International this year running stage 2 and my car was a little ill on the day as my 1/4 mile times were crap.

That's brill from a 1.4 don't know wht best a Corsa has
There are plenty 400bhp of the 1.6 and a 600bhp in Greece and few 2.0t but I will find out and get back to you all :)

Well a lad at trax in a stock Corsa got 5.7 so am not that shocked now lol I am
Booked in for the RR when I get my injectors so will time then :)

But back the the question, am we looking at the wrong tuning sites?

2 examples;

1) on the way to santa pod 4 people in the car, boot full of stuff stage 1 vs stage 2 corsa vxr stripped with just driver = I was quicker by about a car length.

2) mates stage 2 arctic astra vxr vs mine stage 2 misfiring = boc quicker.

Not taking anything away from the VXR lot lovely cars but I just think people think they are the quickest things ever, hence why I have a pacman eating VXR on my back window :p

Well I will happily show up any of you up ;D lmao! But please someone awnser me

And if anyone lives near chesterfield Derbyshire send me a message and we can settle it :) as I know somewhere ;D

:)

What's the spec of your vxr?

Full Milltek race systeme
Flowmaster intake
Stage 3 Remap
Courtney Motorsport intercooler
Astra VXR double clutch and lighted flywheel

And got SPAX RSX fantastic coils would recommend to anyone :)

Also a vrs what's mapped was shocked as he couldn't keep up ;D same engine isnt it?

I'm close to Chesterfield, but unfortunately cannot participate in any head to heads on the Chesterfield bypass/private road as I have a stage 2 Polo GTI and not a Seat Ibiza.

Just dyno'd it today at 220bhp and 232lbft

Corsa VXR is just over 1300kg as stock and an Ibiza/Polo is around 1200kg as stock. So, if you do the maths....

Corsa stage 3 = 252/1.3=193.8bhp/ton
Ibiza stage 2 = 220/1.2=183.3bhp/ton

So in theory the Corsa would have the advantage on a head to head run from a 40mph roll, but from a standstill, where gears count, the Ibiza would beat it due to the corsa losing 0.2 to 0.3 seconds on the first two or three gearchanges. :1st:

On another note, stage 3 has just been done with a hybrid turbo on the 1.4TSI APR Polo GTI and is currently running 270bhp, so there is no reason a Seat Ibiza shouldn't be able to do exactly the same [B)]
