Seems you think were talking poo lol. Although most of your guys seem to agree with us. But just as they say, once you get up to speed, your Hp will take over, but id bet like for likepower outputs and the ibiza will win all day long. Only limiting factor currently is lack of tuning potential, but tha'ts growing and growing.

Lets post up some proof then shall we:

So you see where not all talk, we have proof,whihc is something you seem to be lacking at the moment.

Also bear in mind to launch these DSG gearboxes you have to go from tickover as you cant hold revs up for a launch as the throttle is cut when the foot brake is applied. With launch control and the ability to hold revs and dump the clutch, theres LOADS of time to be gained.

TBH i dont see whats so hard to understand or believe. Weve shown you proof and most of the guys in the top link have said exactly what we have said.

Vrsy and the rest of the bunch are right mate. and as just posted. the proof is above. Over a 1/4 and up to National speed limits I'd say a Cupra would beat a C VXR A mate of mine is a big Vaux fan and for ages hes been harping on about a VXR, (Currently gota Corsa D 1.2 with a zorst) and hes been for loadsa test drives, hes just gota new job so is upgrading his motor but since Ive got my cupra and I took for a spin in it, all weve done is go hunting for Cupras test driving the, because he reckons its faster more of the time and when you need it most. Plus the cheaper running costs make up for the top speed performance loss.

A VXR will be quicker from a motorway "race" from 60 or 70 but pretty quickly on a motorway you'll be breaking the sound barrier(if the evo test is to go by, or did piston 4 go @111mph?) and I dont think the local police would be impressed, or your insurance. Or my insurance as a 21 year old that gets screwed every year because of statistics and the general insurance lottery

Mine is stock and I will probs map it at somepoint but for now its pretty quick as it is

Im a ford man, always liked em, had a 10 plate ZS but the new ST will be slower than my cupra when it comes out.

Don't know if this is a bit off topic - but I've always thought the VXR's were chavvy :-/

Yeah, I am inclined to agree. Nice power but not much else going for them(imo). They certainly draw attention and do look pretty good. But I wouldn't want to be driving one with people looking at me thinking what a Boy racer/chav. Think the Cupra is more subtle.


(Though, maybe not mine, have a look at the colour!)

This is true. I don't want to generalise but most VXR/Vauxhall owners are "dreamers" or chavs lol.

How many Corsa VXR's with a simple Sage 1 remap will keep with an RS focus on the 1/4.. I'd say non. I'd also say when does 100mph+ even matter? Not often that's for sure. I'll keep my 40+mpg and and 5.1 0-60 thanks!

these last few posts are my thoughts exactly... people look at the ibizas and think thats a nice car, young people love the look, oldies too and your average adult who isnt into cars still likes the look.... my dad for example is dull when it comes to cars but thinks my ibiza is smart... i showed him a vxr and he said that looks like a trainer haha!

the ibiza is a brilliant car!!! it is often overlooked (because of its conservative styling) and flies well below the 'chav radar' in comparison to the full on Nike Air Max tracksuited Corsa VXR!! i have had many 'encounters' with VXR's and everytime i have put them firmly back in their place.

Im not saying the VXR is a bad car because its not, its just not the THE WORLDS BEST CAR as most VXR drivers claim it to be... they need to sit down and take note that the ibiza fr/cupra/boc WILL beat them hands down

The Icing on the cake for me is the "1.4 inside sticker" Ive got on the back for whenI go past people. (rarley to be honest in a big city and somehow although I come across plenty VXcharveR/Type R's they are usually going a different way ;( )

Ive gotta admit i love the Mk5 ibiza cupra! i never realized how deadly they are! very impressive performance! Even my old girl has put a couple of corsa Vxr's in there place

just added a new Intercooler (custom made) + Exhaust + 200 cells + Intake .
wich gave me 1 HP ....

little confused by your post? that dosent make sense. You say you have a custom downpipe with upgraded sportscat, an intake(a good one or just something knocked together) and intercooler....you say custom made....again is it a decent company?

Also is the map made to accomodate these?

2,5 " to the sportscat 3" after + middle and End silencer

Inake is allmost like the Forge one untill my batterie plate is done

and Intercooler is this one .

with the same map on the same dyno +1hp . weather was completely different.

so we did a new map wich comes out nicely wich gave more then 1hp .
