Standard Air filter VS Upgraded Panel Filter

Right the day of my remap I replaced my pipercross panel filter with a standard filter. The pipercross one was filthy and I'd lost the cleaning stuff. What panel filters do you guys recommend in mapped 2.0 TDI's? Any of you actually noticed any difference other than the money saving during servicings.

I'm using a k&n panel filter and although everyone says they make no difference I did notice it pulled better.
I then had a stage 1 Sedox remap and made 210bhp from my cr170.

Pipercross panel here, tiny bit more induction noise, but I don't think its really any different, even when on full boost in peak revs / torque.

But then again, I'm a Pipercross dealer so didn't have to pay for my filter !!!
