Hi,

Was wondering if it's easy to install the OEM Sat Nav in the a cupra r 2005 or would it be better just to pay an auto electrition to do it? Seen them on ebay before for like 200-250ish.

Anyone have any Idea???

Cheers kev. :D

So it sounds like alot of money to put a standard sat nav in then lol, cause it surpost to add about £500 in value to your car i heard

Thanks for the replys

Would of thought you could buy a car that's being broken with it fitted and strip all the bits and sell car back on.

Doubtful it adds 500 to the value of the car though

It won't add value of £500..but will cost you at least that.
Seat sell the double din centre console for £260 ish, you then need the sat nav unit itself (or aftermarket, still not cheap) and the fascia.
You then have the issue that it will remove the cigarette lighter and ash tray, unless you change the lower centre console too and that adds more cost.
I did the conversion as I found one at a good pice.

You can chop up a single din one and make it double din but that's a bit of a ****on tbh although it saves a lot of money.

I wouldn't bother fitting a standard Navigation unit. I have one in my LCR and its seriously outdated. Slow navigation calculation with out of date map data, Only plays standard CDs and radio. Better fitting a decent aftermarket Navi head unit if you want a double DIN setup.

Yeah true, will look at some after market ones cause it would be cheaper in long run but wanted to keep it standard as possible. can't you update your sat nav hyphon12? And I suppose it just makes your car more desirable with a sat nav built in.

You can update the map data but the software is just old and so slow I don't even use it (use google maps on my phone). I only use the radio on it and have a parrot kit for the phone and audio streaming.
