quick question when i've been driving my 130 tdi for about 15 mins and i go in to a multi store car park the steering starts tohum when i right lock the steering wheel or even left does anyone else has this prob?

has it only done it in the car park or did it carry on afterwards when you left??

my guess might be a dodgy floor surface in the car park, and (possibly) wet tyres aswell

Probably just the hydraulic pump, sounds louder in a carpark if it was a covered one

no it also happens after i've left the car park it only happens after the car has warmed up do you think there could be some kind of leak or a fault?
yeah they should do you tracking for free if you have only had the car 4 3 days if not kick up a stink mate.

Thanks yea I wil give them ring thing is it 20 mile drive which is the problem not fair tho rather not have to pay £40 for tracking on brand new car

Called the dealer up. Taking it in on thursday. Also checked tyres to make sure it wasn't flat and it was spot on 2.1 bar.

:wtf:Sorry mate no hydraulic stearing pump!:-o Mk4 Ibizas were one of the 1st to use speed sensitive electromechanichal stearing!!![B)]

The mk4 ibiza uses an electrohydraulic steering pump... speed sensitive yes... however it is still hydraulic.

bear - check your power steering fluid if you haven't already. You might have air in the system which may be the cause for the strange steering. Bleeding the system is not too difficult either. If you don't know how i can let you know

yeah a little green cap, it's a right pain to get off especially if it hasn't been off for a while. It's got an indicator stick attached to it.

ok, here goes,

- Check the hydraulic oil level, top up if needed.
- Raise the front wheels off the ground.
- Open the cap on the filler tank.
- With the engine off, rotate the steering wheel 10 times from limit to limit.
- Check oil level again and top up if needed.
- Screw the cap back on, but don't tighten it.
- Start engine and run for about 10 seconds.
- Stop the engine.
- Check oil level again and top up if needed.
- Carry on doing this till the oil level does not drop anymore.

Hopefully this will sort out your problem
