Steering wheel illumination?

Hi all,

05 Altea 2L TDi DSG

Please could you tell me if the steering wheel audio control buttons on the steering wheel are illuminated.

If not - is it possible to change this?

You know something, i said no in that last post but now i am not sure....

What does it say in the Handbooks?

I wonder if its like the VW Multi function wheels with an on/off switch for the illumination at the back?

I know the Ibiza's don't illuminate but if the Leons light up why wouldn't the Altea's with its obvious similarities!

Enough so that at 1pm when i go on my lunch i am going to walk the mile it is back to my car just to check! madness lol

They light up on my MY08 XL.

I can switch them on & off by pressing the top/outer buttons at the same time.

Its a my parents new purchase so hadn't actually got the car/manual to check/read at the time! Have now!

A little bit extreme but my parents were so annoyed that the illumination was not functional on their 06 Ibiza it was key factor in buying an Altea and I wanted to check as the SEAT salesman was telling them them the buttons didn't illuminate!
