Stereo Device Error using phone through USB

Hi folks,

I'm new to the forums so apologies if this has already been covered somewhere. I searched forums for other threads and had a look at the FAQ and couldn't find anything so thought I'd start a new thread.

I recently bought a mark 2 Leon and around the same time I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3. When I first plugged in my S3 through the USB port everything was fine and dandy and it registered as a mass storage device through which I could browse an play music etc.

However, after a few faults with the phone (then a new S3 with more sodding problems!!) and a firmware update I now just get a message saying device error - not recognised.

Anyone know how I can get these two to talk to each other again because I miss music.

Thanks

Does the phone still charge when plugged in? I'm guessing by the fact you've had the same phone working it's your current one which has the problem...

But drastic but have you backed up your one and factory reset it so it still keeps the current firmware but a fresh install so to speak...

Yeah it does still charge.

I was thinking about trying a factory reset - I just didn't know if anyone had the same problem and it wasn't something to do with jelly bean update.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the phone - I seem to have endless problems with Samsung stuff. Appreciate the reply though.

I'm pretty sure Samsung changed the way the phone connects when they updated to Jelly Bean and it'll now connect as a media device. If you go in the settings there should be an option to connect using USB mass storage. You'll have to do this everytime unless you want to root it.
