Stereo phone compatibility

Hello...

I've always had compatibility issues between the stereo in my Leon (2014 SE Tech Pack) and my iPhone 6S (read errors, caused system to switch off and not respond), never done anything about it as it seemed to rectify itself after a few minutes.

However I've now upgraded to an iPhone 8 and I can't get the car to recognise it via USB (Connecting Device... flashes up but the phone never becomes selectable). Bluetooth audio works fine but I don't want to use this.

Are my car & phone compatible? If not is there any update to make it so?

Are you using an apple certified MFi cable?

Thanks for reply. I'm using the Apple 30-pin cable supplied with the car, with a genuine Apple 30-pin to Lightning connector.

You might want to look into upgrading the software for the infotainment.

The only other thing I can think of is the phone not liking the MDI to 30pin connector. Might be worth trying a MDI to lightning cable, but give the software upgrade a go first.

I have an IPhone 8 Plus and Apple Play works fine on my 2017 Leon Cupra, but it is via USB and not the same MDI cable you specify
