The FR Leon is seven years old and this winter developed an annoying problem. When the weather was cold and damp in UK conditions the steering wheel at the top became soft and sticky where it had been damaged by sunlight.

The solution has been to fit a specific SEAT Leon FR alcantara steering wheel cover off eBay I chose the black one but there was one with red stitching and centre strip for those that like that kind of thing. The result is pretty good it doesnt interfere with the paddles. It is nice and tight and well shaped to fit. The bits that were supposed to fit around the buttons I trimmed off as I couldn't get them under the buttons. It took two of us to pull the cover on and took my wife an experienced seamstress and hour and a half to sew it on. It wasn't easy and sometimes the needle and thread needed pulling through with pliers. The installation kit was supplied with the cover

Hopefully no more soft sticky steering wheel in winter ?!
