i've been told about a cheap exhaust manifold available from here http://www.xs-power.co.uk/index.php...id=308&zenid=428b0eb5c0f79c90e0f4ae658915d9cf it looks like a stock location jobbie and was wondering if it would be worth a go at under £300? i've heard that their turbo kits aren't up to much as they are believed to be inferior chinese copies but this manifold "seems" to be alright. the person that told me about it is well into his jap stuff and is of the opinion that the ricers seem to like the kit they sell. also, it says that it is 2mm thick tubing........would this possibly lead to cracking issues? would ceramic coating be a good preventative measure?

ps, i know the expression "buy cheap, buy twice" but i'm tempted for some strange reason!

2mm is very thin is it not?? ceramic would help heat but not stop it cracking which i bet it would

you'd prob best best and pay the extra and get a good one first time round instead of going with some dodgy ebay site

Back in my Rover Coupe days there were alot of owners who went for kits from XS... And most sent the lot back! Cracked manifolds was the most occuring problem and poor fitment was the next. You could buy 2 of the same manifolds from them but they'd be slightly different in the bends and welds.

you will need to support the turbo really well as to not cause any strain or stress on the mani, Also the flange needs to be cut into 4 seperate ports to allow for expansion, even then i dont think id bother, you said it yourself that the tubo kits are nasty.
