Well fingers crossed over the next few weeks I will be making some changes to the 'R', one of which will be to take off the stock backbox and replace it with pipe-to-tip. I plan on leaving the centre section alone because it looks in decent nick and will keep my costs down. I'm just curious what size pipe i will be paying for - 2.25, 2.5 or 3 inch??

Really? But it looks dog-ugly poking it's fat self form behind the rear bumper. Plus the car will be getting lowered and I think the exits are a bit too small.

I should be able to sell it on though and make some money back...
 
I've always thought if your gonna get rid of one then it should be the centre one and backbox dictates the exhaust tone, not just loudness

Just what I was told, could be wrong
 
I think the original Remus exhaust is terrible.
The tailpipes are too small the silencer is too big and spoils the look with it visible below the bumper.
I fitted a sportscat and downpipe to my original system which made the exhaust note sound better but the baffles rattled like hell until fully warmed up.
So be careful what you do as without the rear silencer it will be too loud with no exhaust tone.
And will the centre silencer removed the Remus rear silencer won't take it very long before its rattling.
It's upto you but I'm giving advice after doing it with the R exhaust not just guessing.

Appreciate that Kev, thank you. So i'm better off saving for a cat back where everything will be taken care of (especially getting rid of that ugly back box and giving me some extra 'girth' on the tail pipes)???
 
Pretty much mate.
I tried Milltek first then sold it and then bought the best.
My B.C.S exhsust was over £100 cheaper than the Milltek and about 100 times better too.
