Depends which side of the fence you sit;

Boy Racers = Against
Car Enthusiasts = For / Don't mind

My little brother went last night and he said it was pretty good, bigger than a few high profile organised car meets.

I can remember what it was like a few years ago before the injunction, it was horrendous. It wasn't organised as such, it was just every man/woman turned up in their cars, raced along the roads, wheel spinning, rev limiter popping and handbrake turns. There was also was a little prostitution ring going on at one point around the rear of the cinema/quasar.

As far as I'm aware, last night, there were no issues. If the meets stay civilized, they aren't every weekend (once a month) and maybe a few trade stands, it could become something pretty special. I'm all for the police staying and having a look around, I'm legal and have nothing to hide, plus they will deter the small select a**holes who thinks its good donutting around the car park, putting everyone at risk or dealing in some illegal activity...

I'm new to the area but my fella used to go yearrrrrrs ago so he went to catch up with old friends - and he told me about the "festitutes" hahaha!! He took me to show me "what it was like back in the day". Most people were sensible one or two plebs with loud music and doing burn outs but generally sensible. I think it's unfair to lump car enthusiasts with the few chavs that night turn up and ruin the evening so I was pleased with the police presence to stop the tw4ts from ruining it all. I got a message from one friend who asked "if the police were still there cus the guy she was coming with had no tax" well no offence and I told her, I pay everything I need to to keep my car road legal and if he bought his car he'd get everything he deserved! Grrr they are the d1cks that give others the bad name!

Last night was ace tho and a nice mix - everything from a seat mii to an R8, Sierra cosworths to a brand spanking camaro (mmmm!) if people stay sensible I don't see why we couldn't do it regularly. I know id rather have a few people near my house looking at each other's cars than sitting on the kerb drinking white lightening and smoking pot!

Ps I resent the phrase BOY racers

Haha sounds like a good meet all in all. I may meet you all if you're all going to the next one.
There is a similar meet up my way, usually around 1000/1500 People turn up and there are burger vans and stuff (and sometimes there's a fire breather there too lol). It's a good event

I probably will go, my fella loves meeting his mates and I love showing my car off and taking photos so hopefully meet you too! Where's the meet you go to?
I wish there was more stuff like this, sad maybe but I'd much rather go out with my car than waste money drinking

I enjoy looking at other peoples car and the work they put into them, albeit, they may not be to everyone's taste...

The guy/girl who has this page - https://www.facebook.com/stokefez?fref=ts - may or may not realise at this moment, they are in a powerful position to organise something special and keep it above board.

The only issue I can see arising from this now though is other car-clubs organising meets, all the time instead of keeping it to one main event and the old ways creeping back in...

I think the Police will have to maintain a presence on the weekends, or they'll get CCTV covering the area to a greater extent to keep an eye on things. If anything if I were the Police I'd welcome it and stick an ANPR system on the roads around Fez to scan everyone and make a killing from the numpties who aren't insured and taxed...

I used to be there back in the day haha, tbh before they bought the injunction in there was only a minute group of pure idiots there the rest sat on McDonald's/lay bys or just by the cinema, used to be a good atmosphere, bet McDonald's sales rocketed to about 300%

Just corrected the stats ;)

You seem to be keeping quiet about your car choice...

What have you bought to replace the Leon?

Something that has cost me £519 today on a new clutch and gearbox input shaft bearing and a free drop link as mine snapped in 2, feel free to guess
