stooopid glove box

honestly how stupid is the LCR glove box.. it will hardly even fit a glove..

can i pull out the box and replace it with one that doesnt have a multi changer in it?

ive looked but dont wanna pull or twist too much that it snaps

Yeah deffo, just fit a standard Leon glovebox in there. Be careful when removing the disc-changer.

OR I think I read somewhere you can take the changer out and fit a tray in your existing glovebox but not sure.

You can replace the auto changer with an equivalent sized insert not sure of the part number, but i know Robson has done the same to his, have a look on his build guide there is a photo of it on about page 30 on ward. To remove the glove box you have to undo the screws that run along the inside top edge, then one at the bottom right, and approx 4 screws under the side panel, although i think you can get the auto changer out without removing the glove box, the black trim that runs along the bottom and sides just clips revealing two screws.

Ive just left the hole as it gives you more room without the insert, although it does look much better with the insert. nice one Lee, didn't know you had an iDA, just bought a 16gb memory stick = 140 albums!!

I believe you can get a re-location kit to put it under the passenger seat.

*Goes out to check his HU is still there* I thought that looked familiar! It's my lovely alpine and glove box And yes very easy to do. I guess you could easily get a couple of little brackets, some cable extensions and make something secure under the passenger seat.
