Strange hesitation

I was at traffic lights today just before a sliproad onto the M62 when a early Lotus Esprit pulled up alongside. Just for fun I decided to have a go and didn't do too badly, but on my up-shift to 3rd there was at least a second hesitation between me hitting the throttle and it doing something, almost like when the traction control cuts in, but it wasn't on.

It has not done this before and I've tried to make it do it again under very hard acceleration, but it hasn't. Has it happened to anyone else or is it the slippery slope to another part failing?

I know it wasn't clutch slip as absolutely nothing happened, but with the entire throttle being electronic, I suppose it could have been a slight blip in communication between my foot and the engine!

I had something similar to this, when changing gear at high revs, sometimes it would not come back on boost, needed to lift off and put down again. I was told it was a glitch in the electronic accelerator sensor (im sure it was called something like that) But since i have had the car remapped, this problem has gone away.

I may be wrong about clutch slip, but mine definately does it as well and its usually when I change too fast at very high revs.

Mine has done this a couple of times too.

Got mine when cruising on M62 at 60ish in heavy traffic then changing down to 5th and planting foot straight away when lane clears.

It was like a seond or so delay before it seemed to do anything.

Yeh i had that! the revs freeze for a second, then carrys on! it was lamba sesnor and N75 that were playing up for me! Then i got it remapped! It now flys all the way without any glitchs, (after today, the N75 hose snaped  ) .

If you have a spare week of your life..

Big Lad, i had my B1S1 Lambda fail on me to after this problem got a bit worse, wonder if the lambda was on the way out, the remap adjusted it a bit, and kinda cured it, then it finally killed the lambda totally.???

You need to replace you lambda sensor, - some cheap lambda sesnor fail quickly than oem ones.
