Hi Guys.

I have noticed recently that while driving the car, when the turbo kicks in I can hear a strange noise what sounds like someone sucking air through a straw, also when the clutch is dipped at about 2k -2.5k there is a fluttering type of noise (this is alot more noticeable when the engine is cold).

Another thing, and I'm not sure if it's just me or not but the car doesn't seem anywhere near as quick as when I first bought it.

Any advice will be appreciated ;)

My car is a 2007 FR TDI 170.

mine had this a while ago, (sounds similar to a dumpvalve) not long after it developed a whistling noise, turbo was gone (vnt vanes stuck causing the whoosh) then cus i did nothing id imagine the extra strain on the turbo knackered the bearings. this was 3 months ago and im only gettin a new turbo in it this weekend coming ffs lol

dont want to scare you, but thats what happened to me so lol

Cheers guys, il hopefully try and have a look at it 2moro and see if I can find anything.

Thanks

do the tdi's not woosh anyway on gear change beacuse of the wastegate? It's defiantly noticable on a straight through pipe. I like the coohing noise though, and I have heard many VAG diesels make it
