Strut Bar.

Is there a strut brace available yet for the Ibiza 6J 1.4TSI? I would like to install one together with the Whiteline Rear ARB but havnt seen any strut bar yet.

ps. Strut bar is the correct English word right? It's this thing over the engine;

Totally not needed on a car with that kind of power however bear in mind that with a front strut brace fitted any shunt incurred on either side or front will result in massive damage due to the "connected" sides and the lateral impact force(s) involved. In other words, I wouldn't bother unless you purchase a 400BHP car and drive at 10/10'ths 90% of the time.

Si Is right, should not really need it stiffer ARB bushes an ARB would be money better spent.

i have a mk3 ibiza cupra, if i were to fit upper and lower strut braces, would they improve my cars behaviour while cornering, and braking on corners etc etc

Char, it basically ties the left hand side of the bonnet to the right hand side making the car stiffer which is supposed to give better handling as there isn't much flex in the chassis once fitted.

Yeah I think they would. They stiffen up the car so it rolls less giving more predictable handling.

You could try DPM performance, im sure they do strut braces for the mk 4 ibiza so most likely will for the mk 3 mate.

The strutbrace adds rigidity to the chasis, reducing flexing when you're driving hard, helps the suspension do its job. Ofcourse the strut brace doesnt do this by itself, it needs "friends" in other places on the car aswell.
But especially if you visit a trackday every now and then you'll want this kinda stuff on your car.

And no you dont need 400hp in your car to notice this.... :S

Yeah he means like it wouldn't work on its own very will, you would need coilover's, anti-roll bars and that sort of thing along with the strut brace to get the best out of it.
