I was thinking of modifying ABF engine with itb and cams. But they are expensive and gives little power. I googled for boosted ABF engines and i saw some Eaton Supercharged ABF's. And it looks that it's the cheapest way to achieve about 200 - 210hp. I am only thinking to swap the ECU with Megasquirt. I don't want to change the inlet manifold or injectors.
What are the parts i need to buy to supercharge my ABF by adding an intercooler?
P.S: Please do not make advices about turbocharging, or mounting itb's or 20vt conversions.
Thanks :)

I found some pictures about this thread:

But this way, it looks the place where intercooler is placed is not good. I understood that inlet manifold have to be changed to use a good FMIC. Which inlet manifold i have to use for this?

Might be worthwhile looking on some of the golf forums, there are a fair few on there. Places like ed38 if you can handle the clique.

Also have a look on here, cannot remember his username for life of me, its "roots" on ed38

He had the. 1.8 16v mk2 gti, and supercharged it, the purple one :)

g40 = 1.3 8v
g60 = 1.8 8v
eaton m45 (from a mini cooper s) = 1.8 16v
eaton m62 (from a merc) = 2.0 16v

what most people use :)

I read that thread last night Suraj :) But i need help about ABF engine. Which injectors fits, wihch inlet manifold i can mount (1.8T?), etc.

Personally I would look into changing the injectors, I have Astra VXR injectors.... not very costly but a bit more fuel is what you need for forced induction!

Drop in power you told me on facebook you what 240bhp from Badger 5's throttle bodies & cam's and now you going down the superchrage route you only want 200-210!

Yeah that's right but it's much cheaper.
Instead of buying badger5's kit + cams i can turbocharge and get 300+ horspower + torque.
The reason i am researching about supercharging is, it looks much cheaper and easier.

Thinking about the work that will be involved and then to get "300bhp" internal will need changing along with valves & valve springs to take that power! A 20vT conversion is going to be much cheaper in the long run.... 240-300 odd bhp on standard internals and the likes of a stage 1, 2, 3+ remaps when you need them!

Look at Roly's, Martins & CrossedMike (doing one at the moment) Bet you it will probably even work out cheaper to fit the 20vT than actually supercharging the ABF..... sad but true!

BUT

I know where you coming from with wanting to keep the ABF, with the cash I've spent on the ABF I could easily have a 360+bhp 20vT lump under the bonnet.

it is'nt cheap unless you can make a lot of the parts yourself, and it wont give you the power you are after easily.. unless you choose a suitably flowing charger

We built an 8v mk3 gti with an M45 charger.. on my dyno we got to 160-170bhp form its std 115bhp, and its torque curve of 160lbft is flat as you like. Too small a charger for 2ltr tho imho.

bog stock engine internally..
Running it on S40 DTA ecu.
my step sons car

if budget is determining this, then turbo kit may well work out cheaper

Any advices about, which head gaskets and injectors, also supercharger i can use?
İ think megasquirt ecu is capable for this modification?
