Hi guys I'm pretty new to this! I have a 2002 mk3 cupra and experiencing a strange noise in 1st gear. The car pulls well in every gear, no slipping and no noises in any other gears. Just wanted to know if anyone has any ideas what the problem could be???
Yeah thats what made me think of them, they have a very good rep with head parts. I would have thought some jap boys might have used them, have you done any searches on google? Ill see what i can find tonght after work
Just been having a search on google, on other forums. There do seem to be mixed reviews on the supertechs, some saying they have had problems, others saying they have ran 20+psi on them and they have been fine.
One problem i have read about is the wrist pins snapping. Couldnt see this happening unless there is a serious flaw in the manufacture, which if there was they wouldnt be on the market?
To me, id say they seem good for the money. £100 ish cheaper than other brands?
If you do decide to go for them, let me know how the quality is when you recieve them
And another point, looking at the supertech on ebay, they say the are made with a high silicon content as opposed to other makes with low/no silicon content.
Although hardened etc how much difference would that make? Make them softer? More expansion? I really dont know the ins and outs but maybe someone could let us know the pros and cons?
