Suspension makes hissing sound when going over bumps?

Hi all, I'm starting to get concerned; when driving my lcr, over small bumps i get a hissing sound (gas release?) from my suspension. The larger the bump the more pronounced the hissing sound. Going in a multistory carpark the noise is so loud! I'm concerned this could affect any number of things can anyone please shed some light on this for me?

I'm assuming the suspension is stock, if so and its the sound I think it is I wouldn't worry about it.

Suspension is stock, why shouldn't I worry about it?Doesn't sound natural to me

Mine makes the same sound and has done for two and a half years and almost 20,000 miles, no problems.

To be honest, I'd be worried if the sound goes away. To me it's the sign of working suspension, I've only ever had it just after fitting new shock absorbers.

As above mate, it's just the sound of the dampers compressing. The stock suspension, although the 'Sport' version, is still pretty soft and every car I've had (except my Metro with hydrolastic-majig) makes this sound to some degree over speedbumps.

They are gas shocks nowadays, so you'll hear them doing their thing
