Do any of the tuning company's offer switchable maps? Maps that can be change while driving? I know that REVO offer a way to switch between maps but not on the move.
The thinking behind it is that I like the idea of being able to choose between say an economy map, a smooth fast road map and a banzi map. Is the only way of doing this with a electronic boost controller?

I can switch maps only with vag com but not on the move. I dont think its possible to change them while engine is running. Maybe you can lower boost but not the maps. Maybe with a stand alone system ?

Speak to jabbasport, Mike can fit a switch that can turn the torque down although I think BHP stays the same. Makes a big difference on my car. All in real time on the move.

Thanks for the replys. I'll have a look into the options you've suggested. I'm supprised in these days of austerity there's no one is offering the option to rein it in a bit when not on one. One of the things that's putting me off a remap is getting on for £1.50 a litre of v power! Guess I should stop being a big girls blouse and get on with it!!!

I find my cupra does an extra mpg or two running higher RON. I can do 42mpg going to work :).
