Hey

Got a 2013 Ibiza Toca 1.4 in black and i want to spray paint the badge black and take off the IBIZA and Toca badge, who will do this for me, halfords? plus anyone show me some photos of your ibiza?

Chances are that there won't be an awful lot, they're not glued on, they're held on by sticky pads. What is left should just rub off by hand, especially with the bit of heat. Anything more stubborn might require a bit of elbow grease, or something like Autoglym Tar and Glue Remover.

Cheers mate i'll sort that tonight, and where abouts do you think i could get an FR badge to put on? ;)

yeah good idea, i was thinking of getting a fly eye kit too? i want the car all black, and what kind of exhaust should i get (dont want one too loud just want a nice hum sound)

Fly eye kit isn't a bad idea, at the end of the day it's removable etc so no long term issue. I wouldn't bother with an exhaust, all sorts of insurance implications (it's definitely something you should declare) and it's not a desirable item on your car when it comes to resale! Do some visual bits, get some interior bits from a higher model, consider some better alloys, keep it clean and waxed. Put your money to one side for a faster, louder car when your insurance allows.

how about getting it lowered also, would you have to declare that?

Yes, strictly speaking you should declare anything and everything. But realistically anything that is visual only doesn't usually cause an issue.

Anything that alters the performance (in any way, so power, handling, braking etc) is an absolute must for declaring IMHO, and that includes lowering.

You'll get people that say that's all a load of crap, and you can "get away" with whatever bits and bobs. But the long and short of it is, if you say "no" when your insurance company ask if the car is modified, and it later transpires that it is modified (even slightly), then you leave yourself in a massive black hole of potentially no insurance (which carries 6 points, which means you would presumably lose your licence - if 96 is your birth year).

This is of course the worst case scenario, but you've got to ask yourself, is it really worth it?

true, i wont bother with that then haha one more question, im on the fly eye kit website, what size will i need ? im going to get rear and front headlights done thanks for your help!

Pass, I've never applied fly eye, probably best to measure your lights and take a best guess from there, order slightly more than you think you will need as it's always better to have to too much!

Try a stubby aerial?

Took the badges off last night! looks awesome, so what else could i do to improve its looks?

Have a read through here, if you paint your badges you have to tell your insurance but if you wrap of plasti dip them, you don't have to, also plastidip is easy to do at home all you need if 2 knifes to get the grill off, a T25 to get the boot cover off and a 10mm socket to get the boot badge out but in here should explain most of it

For insurance purposes painting is the same as plastidipping, it's still a modification however slight. In reality, it would take one hell of a jobsworth to refuse your claim because you painted your car's badge.

cool, i ordered a Fly Eye kit last night also, just wondering if i should tint the tail lights only or the headlight as well?

I asked my insurance company and as plastidip is removable is it not classed as a modification the guy said " if it's not changing fittings, or actual paint then it's not a modification, wrapping a roof is not a modification because it's removable, neither is plastidip"
