I was still cutting my teeth when the mk1 Cupra R was for sale. The dealership I worked for at the time had a black, red and yellow one side by side on the display stand on the forecourt, they were mega. Miles more exciting to look at than the Golf GTI, R32, Octavia VRS or Audi S3 that were the best offerings from the rest of VWG.
This display sounds mega! Did you ever get any pictures of it?! :)

Nice!! Have you found the CUPRA Ateca has got better and better over the years?!
Not sure about better. Depends on how you quantify 'better'.

Certainly more equipment and safety features (some annoying).

Driving experience very much the same, although I can't help feeling that the shock absorber settings in the DCC have been tweaked over the years in respect to the balance between Comfort / Sport / Cupra.

Cupra in my 1st (70 plate / MY21) was unusable on the road.

My 2nd (23 plate) seemed a shade softer and very much so on Cupra.

My 'new' (74 plate MY25) seems softer again, except Cupra is back to being firmer.

I wonder if the programming and/or main spring rates have changed. :-k. :-k

Great insights, thank you for sharing! Yes, the safety features seem to have taken off in the last few years!

Very interesting points about the feeling and handling of the Ateca over even the last few years!

Love this side by side! Interesting to see how car design has changed over the years. How do you find driving an electric car? :)

The Born is a lovely electric car is very smooth and swift, but weight and lack of an engine makes it slightly less engaging to drive than my Ibiza Xclellence Lux DSG to drive. I will have a tough time next January deciding on going for a facelift Ibiza or a Raval, as Born is the closest to a hot hatch in electric I have driven and expect the Raval will be similar.

Yes, allot of innovation especially on the ICE side, but boy that Leon Cupra was fun to drive and handled well.

Stunning example of a Bocanegra! It's immaculate so no surprise it won that prize! Do you use it as a daily too?!
Thanks
