tapping noise from engine

hi ive got a cupra r when its ticking over theres a tapping noise sounds like its coming from the drivers side just woundering if any1 has any ideas what it mite be?

I noticed the same tapping noise in the area shown in the photo by the red ring...ps that's not my engine bay mine's clean

i've recently bought a leon cupra, and noticed a tapping noise coming from the same place on mine, is this normal or is something wrong

It's the carbon filter by all accounts. They all do that and it's normal. It should only make that noise when the car is stationary though.

Oh and the diesil sounding noise it makes on start up is completely normal too.

is it worth getting it replaced or does it still do it even when new

Sounds like they always do it..
