i am running my bottom end in along with a tdo5 turbo, i have noticed that if i stop on a hill it starts to smoke really bad (oil) and thats just on tickover

while its driving its fine with no noticeable smoke even with a little boost (0.5bar)

any ideas anyone ??? hope its something simple

Mine does exactly the same after 18months still havent found out what it is..

what engine oil are you running it in with

its a mid price mineral based oil, cannot remember the exact make, once its run in i will be putting good oil in

:headhurt: i was thinking it could be something to do with the oil return pipe from the turbo but its odd it only does it on a hill:shrug:

symptoms i got over failing valve stem oil seals..
blue smoke when warm if left at idle for more than couple of minites. but it made no difference on hills or level.

all the breather hoses clear/unblocked/ not kinked?

all the breather hoses clear/unblocked/ not kinked?

they are all the same as when i had the ko4 fitted, same position and clear

i have done about 600 miles and aint had to top the oil up so it dont seem to be burning the oil except on a hill

:help:

Does the oil return to the sump look okay. Seen some with too much of an s bend so the oil has to essentially run uphill.

Just guessing at causes really. Strange one.

thats what i am starting to think, the oil return pipe is quite long with a few bends
am hoping its that and not the turbo

TD05 will most likely have an oil restrictor built into the chra so the oil pressure coming out won't be under huge pressure. No idea what the pressure is reduced to?
