Yup. Thought that was odd as the DSG is supposed to be faster and (I've heard said) much better for that sort of thing. Still, if I take the plunge it'll be for a DSG. Two previous motors with it have both been superb. No complaints if you marry DSG to 280 PS and an LSD

I have had a drive in a DSG 280, very impressed with the car but I just dont like DSG, I have been ringing around dealers in South/West Yorks and cant find any manual demo car, does anyone know if there is a manual demo car anywhere ?? tempted to place an order but not before driving a manual

Exactly the position I was in. Test drove DSG, loved car but hated transmission. Ordered a manual 280 blind as there are no manuals around yet.

I'm sure it'll be fine.

All the dealers i have been to all had the dsg in the demo car .

Seat UK told me manuals weren't expected in the UK until May.

I test drove the new Cupra 280 today, what can I say......WOW and yes I am going to buy one!
But I had set my mind on a manual model, I've never seen the appeal of the DSG gearbox before but that said I had never tried one either. The car I drove today though, had a DSG gearbox fitted and I found myself quite enjoying it! My big issue now is manual or DSG?
I am still erring towards a manual but I'm worried if I buy one I may not enjoy it as much as the DSG one I tested. I need to find a dealer with a manual demonstrator I think.

But, what a car! I absolutely loved it

I ordered one a couple of weeks ago. I was blown away by the 280 dsg and ordered on on the spot. Love my cupra k1 and will be handing it down to the wife, I have to say the new leon knocks spots off the older ones
