Hi everyone, been a while since I have been driving an astra for the last 2 years (don't judge me).

Went and drove a 2013 Leon 2.0 TDi SE DSG yesterday and really liked it.

Just wondering what the common opinion is with these cars?

DSG boxes solid? Anything to look for?

Thanks in advance.

There was , iirc, an issue with the DSG box on early cars, think it was down to a switch in the lever itself ( not sure as I've a manual) pretty sure there was a recall so should be easy to check if it's been done.

Thanks lads, looking at 2 same year 1 silver dsg which I drove and really liked (felt like it had more poke than my remapped 150 astra) but there's a red manual too which is £500 more. Really not sure which to go for.

Check if the dsg is affected by the voluntary recall to have the synthetic oil replaced by mineral and that it's been carried out if needed. It affects VINS up to 5FZDR052123. MY 2014 should be OK. If not then in hot and humid climates the controller can be fried as the synth oil leaves a deposit on the electronics within the DSG.
