The Cheap Intercooler Setup (?)

So..... Is it possible to just pick a universal intercooler (nearly the correct size) from Ebay, Fit it and save $$$$ of money?

I'd be looking at doing this if I could find a comprehensive guide with every part listed to do it and a walkthrough.

I'd make one but i dont have the tie/money or technical skill.
