Hi Guys,

I have done search after search after search and taken in as much information and advice as I possibly can.... But I am still stumped.

Here are my requirements.... I need to be able to lower the car and have stiffer suspension. I want to have height adjustment which would suggest getting coilovers.... Fine :D

Now I went out on a rather spirited drive yesterday with a few other cars. (classic scooby on matched springs and shocks / Clio 172 on springs and orginal dampers / Pug 206 GTi on Coilovers / AE86 corrola on coilovers / RX7 on coilovers) The 2 cars that struggled the most on the country lanes were the 206 and the RX7 both because the coilovers were throwing them all over the place when they hit a bump.

The issue is... I love hammering down country lanes....

What do i need to meet all my requirements..... I have been looking at the KW V3s but i would then need to find somewhere to set them up for me as I haven't a clue!

Cheers for the help and advice (again)

Mike

Forgot to say I currently have the Jabba ARB and a front Strut brace....

Have I really stumped everyone else?

Does anyone have the KW V3s and what are they like down country lanes with a spirited drive?

Cheers

Mike

AwesomeGti do a geo setup... But you'd be changing your setup every 10mins. Motorway... need to change setup..... A road... change setup again... **** a B road.. change setup..... Track day... change setup yet again...

I'm happy with V1's, do plent of A(M) roads and B roads. Got mine a little to low at the front... as the car dips to the right hand side the wheel and arch scrubs at the moment.

Going to ask what this geo setup is at AwesomeGti when I get my service.

Sounds like the coilovers where to screwwed to their lowest setting. I'm trying to match the ride height front and back... not srew the back to the lowest point, then screw the front to the lowest point.... job done.

Also what type of coilovers where on the 2 cars?

On the 206 it was a Cobra setup - Cheap £350ish and on the RX i think they were Tein - About £800....

The cobra are height and damping adjustable and the Tein you can adjust everything.

You will need a decent Coilover set that has BOTH adjustable ride height, but ALSO (and importantly) adjustable rebound.

Adjustable rebound will allow you to make the suspension stiffer, or the other way - softer, for a smoother ride. You'd want to adjust the rebound so it's softer, which will make the ride less harsh, when you hit pot-holes and bumps in the road - especially on UK roads!

Adjusting the rebound for a stiffer ride works best on the (race) track, where the tarmac is usually a smoother specially prepared surface, with minimal defects.

So the KW Variant 3s would be a good choice then?

Does anyone know of a company that does suspension setup in the south east?
