Rattles! Rattles!
Rear driver side door handle vibrates like a mofo with the slightest amount of base:cry:, rattle somewhere on passenger side door, rattle half way on top of the dashboard near the windscreen.

The super cheap and creaky centre dash surround. Its like the plastic that holds the chocolate in a milk tray.

The ride height is rubbish, sorted out tho.:funk:

THE HORRIBLE DASH!!

And the fact that a fat person used to own the car before me and has kinda stretched the material a bit on the drivers seat :snack:

I'd go with this too. Just had the car in for its first service & warranty work on 3 rattles. Credit to the dealer they fixed it no questions but for an 11 month old car, it doesn't inspire you with confidence. :)

Peppermuncher - my passengers side door turned out to be the passengers seatbelt mechanism when unused. See if you can here it when you have a passenger.

I must say apart from the rattles, cars a gem.

Although i wasnt fussed when i first got it the standard 17's on the facelift are just too small now... especially when viewed with the standard ride height which is quite frankly rediculous !

Ticking noise from what i'm told is the fuel filter but isnt noisey on my brothers mk5 tdi (PD)... ??

Vibrating rear passenger door speaker or plastics somewhere...

Other than that the car is sorted... cant fault it. The FL interior is from what i can tell a decent step up from the pre FL so i dont have any complaints about the look, finish or plastics used.

All joking aside. I'm not a fan of the slammed look but ideally the FR should have come from the factory sitting about 30-40mm lower than it actually does.

As for DPF issues, not had any with mine. Done around 6500 miles so far, although I do give it a good run a few times a week to make sure the DPF doesn't get clogged. :)

The thing is, i dont think its that bad a handling car... its obviously been setup to cover a wide range of roads etc, i find the best place for the FR tdi is country lanes, a-roads where the mix of handling, ride height and the punch of the diesel make it a pretty capable cross country machine

It's just visually its too high in standard trim. Even on the 18's the arch / wheel gap stays the same so the overall height must be increased as well... maybe 17's is the way to go afterall !

OK so mine is a PD140 but absolutely no rattles on mine (bar making sure the unused passenger seatbelt is set to the right height) one of the biggest improvements I noticed after my mk1!
Maybe the rattles are down to the FR's firmer suspension?
