i have the AUY engined alhambra which today overheated and drank all water , i have been informed to check thermostat 1st, any idea of its location???? pic?

most are fitted to either the coolant pipe which goes below alternator at the engine block or some early cars had them fitted to the bottom hose at the external waterpump{early diesel/petrol}

Hello, I would be really interested to see if you find a fault in the cooling system. I have the same car and mine has been playing up for a couple of months now, at present it will run fine on the flat but if we go for a long uphill run the temp goes right into the red. I have changed thermostats, mended the electric water pump that services the heater matrix but I still have a cooling problem, please let me know how you get on. Cheers stu

I am no expert but I believe the Location of the Termostat is at the end of the pipe that runs in behind the alternator.
