i am currently driving a mk4 r32 that i have only had for about 6 months and have just found out the wife is getting a company car soon so both cars need to go.I have been looking at the golf ed30 but are hard to find in a 5 door and in a good colour,i have test driven the mk5 r32 5 door and its very nice and has plenty of grip but i keep looking at the new cupra and am very tempted in the 300+bhp fun factor.I know the dash is not as nice as the r32 or the no leather option but i did have a lot of fun in my old lcr and i still love them but i had the chance to own the r32 so i could not pass up the chance to own a car that i had wanted for a while.
My ? is how are people finding they handle with 300+bhp and are they still having fun in the car? I have the chance of a brand new silver one that has a few extras like ipod and convenience pack and a couple of other things, the thing is i have never driven one and all the dealer demos that are close are sold so you cant drive them so should i just get it and have fun or wait till i can test drive one?
thanks guys

it handles the power a lot better than the LCR did... I think it's the power delivery, not the amount of power......

When I drove cupra30r's one newly revo'd we took it out & really tried hard to get excessive wheelspin.... it was pretty hard work - it just hooked up & off we went.

I would drive one first, just to make sure you're OK with it - the rear view mirror is huge, but you do get used to it after about 30 mins

I love mine but I would test drive it first. The ride is quite firm. Also, get a car with bluetooth. It's a must have.

well i looked at the leon and the dash was my only prob so i asked a mate at vw to find me a car that i had been after for a while but could not find it at the time i sold my leon cupra r. After a lot of phone calls and a lot of talking i found that the manager had the car i wanted on order for a demo car and had been on order for some time and he had not told any one it was coming but lucky for me he said he would sell it to me. so this is it
