I have a FR tdi at the moment and am thinking of changing.
Has anyone made this change?
What do people think of the Leon Ecomotive? (1.6tdi CR)

Thanks

Jamie

I know. Lol. I don't really know what to do, I have now thought about an ecomotive because I have just recieved an offer from seat! And don't really need the power, although it is very nice!

They are slow but economical and the engine is really quiet. You should get a CR 140 instead, I would say it's the best balance between power and economy in the range.

I have just beem to the stealers and if i want an ecomotive its not actually going to save me alot and the salesman says that the figures in the book are nearly impossible to achieve.
He then said about the 1.2 tsi which would save me £70 a month on the finance plus slightly cheaper tax and alot cheaper on the insurance and the same sort of mp as my FR.

It has got me thinking!

Anyone got a 1.2 tsi? What do you think?

Thanks

Two questions jay -
How long is your typical journey?
How many miles do you do a year?

The 1.6 CR Ecomotive should be free tax, the 1.2 TSI is £90, which should more than take care of any difference in insurance, both should be cheaper than the FR anyway...

Check the options out, the TSI doesn't come with alloys. That can eat into the potential price difference.

there is not much difference in insurance but there is about £3000 in price! If I get the SE it comes with alloys and a fair bit as whats on my FR. because the 1.2 tsi is 0% vat but the diesels are 10% vat. So i can get the 1.2 tsi plus the technology and convenience pack for less than the normal on the road price!

Yea I do but i really don't feel i need the power and my annual milage is going to change soon so really just looking to the future. I should be having a test drive this week so just have to wait and see.
Does anyone know anyone with a 1.2 tsi?

I test drove one in the Ibiza, it wasn't bad for a small engine, improvement over the old N/A 1.4 and 1.6's but I think it'll struggle in the Leon. Heavier car, so I think a remap would be on the cards straight away.
I was gonna change my Cupra for a Fiesta Zetec S with a 1.6TDCI.....glad I kept my Cupra.
Trust me Jay, you'll miss the power, even if you use it once in a blue moon just to over take, you need to leave some bigger gaps to get past then what you do in these FR's.
If you're free today, take your FR out for a good, high revving run :) You'll fall in love with her again :)

Don't get less than SE spec, anything below is total poverty. It'll be like driving a Saxo.

Yea I was going for the SE spec. I'm just going to have to drive it and see. It's a shame they don't do a 24 hour test drive so you can get a true feel of it.

Tech pack has the xenon lights IIRC. Worth the upgrade. I love mine. Although I've had to upgrade DRL, sidelights etc to try match colour and remove yellowish look. Thanks to gainful for help on that. Either way the media system is a must have :)

I'm reasonably happy with mine, though not getting anything like the quoted figures. Averaging out about 60 mpg per tank full (actual, not optimistic computer), though if my daily run was longer, I'd expect mid 60's overall. Apart from the consumption, my biggest complaint is about the seat bolsters which give me back ache after an hour or so, but there again I'm built for comfort, not speed!

Is this the ecomotive or the 1.2 tsi you're talking about?
