I wouldn't go by what the salesman says re: which one will save you more. Do yourself a simple spreadsheet and work out how much you'll spend on fuel, tax, insurance etc. For my mileage - roughly 30k miles per year - the fuel costs simply dwarf the other costs, especially assuming fuel will continue to rise at the current rate. I'm saving £235 per year in road tax but I'm saving around £3,000 in fuel and insurance.

That said, I bought mine when they were offering £2k off the Ecomotive SE as an introductory offer, so it made the decision much easier... :think:
