thinking of getting the new leon

The Golf Mk6 Match is a pretty nice car so I don't think you need to go through the stress of PXing it at a Seat dealer. You could try selling it privately otherwise go round the local VW dealers and see how much they'd offer you cash given they can sell it themselves.

That then puts you in a stronger position for buying the new Leon as you can order through a broker at the lowest price. Just try them all and see which is quoting the lowest price :)

Yer, you don't have to PX if you don't want to. It's mainly for convenience. If the right price is to buy from a broker that doesn't PX and sell your current car yourself then do that. If it's in good nick then a dealer should be more than happy to take it off your hands.

I think I'll get the award for the worst price via my fleet scheme.

Seat are currently doing my company 18% discount on any Seat. Of course you still pay company car tax on the full value though.

Also we only have a fleet of 85 cars so its not like were a huge customer.

That sounds great and makes me realise I think I'm being a bit dense. I thought they had negotiated a crap deal on mine because the p11d was 24k on a 26.5k car so i thought i got just shy of 10% off. But obviously the true cost is reflected in the payments - not sure what they got it for in that case.

Thanks

I ordered a Leon 184 FR last week with metalic paint, leather pack, convienience pack, Titanium pack, Sound pack and sunroof for £23600 which I was very pleased with. Used the quote I had got from another dealer through the Carfile website and they matched it, they were low on sales this month.

I paid £23500 for my spec (see signature) plus I got £1000 deposit contribution from Seat (50% deposit 0% APR) so I'll only pay £22500 in the end. I was happy with that.

well

off to another dealer on Friday, and taking ' the boss' with me.

she dont think we've have had the golf long enough(18 months)
but if we have to wait 12 weeks for the new car then we are looking at November time so may wait until jan 2014 for registration, so then it will be 20 months old. still not old but i ve had over 27 cars in 30yrs of driving so i do tend to swap quite often.:)

i look at it , if we are paying a monthly amount the we may as well be putting it into a newer car, the mrs is a badge snob so will take some convincing so hopefully once she has seen the leon and driven it she will be won over..she has the final say as she is the one who drives it 90% of the time.
we're also off to the vw dealer on sat so when she see's the £ diffference and what you get for your money it will also swing in my favour...[B)]

then i start to question myself, am i changing too early:shrug:

If the amount still owed on the Golf finance is the same or less than the car is worth as a trade in then you might as well change it. Its only if you're in negative equity (i.e. car worth less than the amount still owed) that you should keep it.

This is my first post on these forums!

I currently have a VW Golf on Motability but with the upcoming changes to DLA to PIP, I am considering cancelling my lease with Motability and going for a PCP lease for a new Seat Leon. I like the look of the new Leon and think that it looks smarter then a Golf. I did a quote on Brokers4cars and could get a 1.6 TDI DSG for £217 a month, over 48 months. Plus a £2,000 deposit. I added the convenience pack. Not a bad deal.

Will visit a dealer to get a test drive and to see if they can match that offer.

What do others think?

Cheers for the tip. I'm going to get a few quotes to see which ones offer best price. Where are Pentagon based?
