Has anyone heard of this routine before:

For 1.8T with DBW throttles:

Ignition on, don't start car.
Press Accelerator pedal fully to the floor for 5 second.
Release Pedal, wait 5 seconds.
Start Car.

If such a routine does actually do anything, what is it?

If it's related to throttle position, how does it relate/differ from the TBA?

the pedal is not physically attached to the tb so the two do need recalibrating every so often. I noticed a while back that my pedal only goes to 85% in vagcom, wonder if anyone else can confirm the full travel in %.

I could do with confirmation too.

I have the same issue - only goes to 84.4% and I only get 'PART THROTTLE' even with the pedal to the floor. My car is down on power - could this be the reason? Should it go to 100% 'WOT'?

I've tried a cleaing the throttle body and running a TBA using VAG-COM, but its still the same.

Is there a way to calibrate the throttle or do I need to change the Throttle potentiometer?

Any help would be appreciated.....

I reset adaption on pretty much everything engine wise and my angle is now reading 100% when floored. Still need to turn either my boost or timing down a little as im getting 4-6cf's on full pelt.

So is this throttle valve angle or pedal position?

both seem to be fine now, im not sure if the engine adaption reset does the pedal also, but its fine now.

Err, so your throttle valve was only opening 85% at full throttle...

Do you now have a noticeable improvement in performance?

performance wise, im not pushing her too hard at the moment, only 200 miles into a new turbo after the oil seal went on the last. vagcom is showing 180 g/s at 6200, maybe another little gain after that but im waiting on an sps3 at the moment to redo my boost/timing.

I dunno if the throttle angle goes to 100% seeing as it only opens half way (butterfly) the pedal was only reading 84 or 85% for a while last time i logged but after doing an adaption reset on the engine module in vagcom the pedal now registers 100%, I dunno what else i can tell you without going back out and doing it again, thats the trouble with having a **** memory! :cartman:

Try and remember!!!

I've tried block 060 (TBA) but that had no luck for me.

I would say...

Ignition on, don't start car.
Press Accelerator pedal fully to the floor for 5 second.
Release Pedal, wait 5 seconds.
Start Car

(from post 1?)

I will do this later also!

lol, no idea if that actually works! It came out of a conversation with someone else who 'thought they remembered somthing like that...'.

As my car has a throttle cable, it's not something i can check out. Hence why i posted in the first place! :p

He just PM me... he says that with vag-com, log to Engine, then Adaptation, Read 00, save and loop key (turn off, wait, turn on).

greetings.
