Just a query

my 1.8tsi on the verge on hitting 120k,

Now seat/vw have stated that theres no service intervals for a timing chain on these engines and should last the life of the engine.

However cars devlopped a slight rattle on a cold start, sounds like time

Has any one had theres changed? How much are we talking

Local vag specialists are asking for £1100- £1400 which seems pretty steep

The OEM parts don't seem too expensive - approx:
£80 chain
£50 tensioner x2 (number 5 & 4)
£10 slide rails x6
So something like 250-300 in parts?

There is also an oil pump driven by a small chain - are they also including that?
