So you were worried about economy. I previously got 60mpg from my Diesel, just started a job in central Sheffield and now I'm getting 21mpg from the Cupra on the crawl in....
26 on way out though.
Do I regret it... Nope, the grin you get from the car makes it worth it.
Go on and get one!

Get a Cupra!

Asides from the missus, one of the best decisions I've made in my life was to go for the Cupra over the 184 TDI FR. I also tried out a Golf R. It felt too detached and was way more expensive. Didn't have all the toys either.

Every time I get into it the thing feels special. That's saying something. The daily commute is a pleasure, as opposed to a chore now.

I love this (but wont show it to the mrs), the last car that made me feel like this was the rover 220 turbo (new company car) but that only stayed on the road due to soft compound tyres. The cupra is a car with a split personality. Firstly (why we all bought it) it goes like s**t, sticks to the road and can beat most cars when chucking it round the bends or on the moterway (up to 70 of course :p). Then stick it in Eco Mode with comfort settings and you get a family saloon that does 30 - 35 mpg plus comfort in both sound and road feedback BUT BUT BUT When you need a bit of SPEEEEEEEED just put your foot down (in sports mode). Then after all of that (thanks VW) you can upgrade the engine, gearbod and all the other bits to give you even more....... Plus what every your setup it makes you smile :)

And to keep this even I would also point out my daughter has a Ibiza 2.0 diesel and no its not a cupra but Seat do make cars that drive well, the cupra is tops (for me) but the whole range is fun to drive. Have a great weekend in your cars.

Thanks for all the replies! Over the last few weeks ive been looking about and posting various questions about the cupra. Got one being delivered monday now it seems. Cant wait!
