It's a year since my recently acquired LCR has had a service.

However, in that year it has only done about 5K. Do I give it a service or can I stretch it a bit longer?

I've got a feeling I know what you are going to say.

Engines run on such fine tolerances its not worth missing a service.
Id get decent oil with filter and maybe brake fluid dependant on how long its been.

Would you drink a beer thats been left out for a week?
Prob wouldnt kill you but wouldnt be as nice as a fresh one

From the collected wisdom of the forum, the manuals and from Seat's own documentation:

Oil change service every 10K
- change oil and filter
- check brake pads and disks

Full service every 20K or 12 months, whichever comes first
Oil service plus
- change pollen filter
+ check lights, tyres, wipers, "fan belt", toothed belt, steering, driveshaft gaiters
+ levels in gearbox, coolant, hydraulic fluid, power steering, 4wd, screenwasher

Vehicle exterior
- Door retaining straps: grease and lubricate locking pins
- Sun roof: clean and lubricate guides

Not in service schedule but worth doing - lubricate bonnet lock.

So at 12 months you should do a full service, regardless of mileage.

The other main time-based servicing tasks are hydraulic fluid at two years and cambelt at four.

Id do full every 2 years incl brake fluid n oil filter every year. Cant see why you need a new air filter every 12 months, granted take it out and give it a bash/check for dead rats

Sorry to hijack, what lubricant for bonnet lock and locking pins? Some sort of bearing/multi purpose grease? Or something runnier?

Ah cheers, got some white lithium grease lying about from my bikes so I will use that!

Airfilter is every 40k

But id tend to change it every 20k at a minimum

Oil degrades so its a 10k or 12 months, no 2 other ways about it
