Towing Electrics

Trying to sort out a tow bar for my FR. I know which towbar i want.

The question is how do i find out if my car can take the dedicated wiring connectors that are on the seat site.

Dealer says i have to take it to them to look (30 mins away), i cant beleive they cant check the build state with seat direct.

Does any one know where the dedicated wiring looms connect.

Also will i have to programme the car with vagcom?

Not sure what electrics are available for the Leon, but try googling for Brink or Westfalia - I found some instructions for my can that were very useful pre-purchase.

I think MOST modern cars need to be coded if you want things like the ESP towing program activated, and the reversing sensors disabled when towing, but other than that most cars will be "pre-wired". Pre-wired in that the loom plugs into various places and has the CAN-bus Tails available...
