Towing Limit

Hi

I'm a potential Formentor purchaser and finding this forum really useful.

If I purchase a VZ3 I will need to use it for towing, could someone with a VZ2 or 3 do me a favour have a look on their V5 to check what the maximum towable mass of the trailer is and also check the VIN plate to see what the allowable max laden car weight is and the max train weight is.

The brochure states 2000Kg for 8% & 1800Kg for 12% but I would really like to know exactly what it says on the V5 & VIN.

I went for a test drive of a VZ2 this morning and I was quite impressed (apart from the fake engine noise). Adaptive cruise was easy to use and worked OK for the short time I used it. Lack of physical buttons would take a bit to getting used to but wouldn't put me off. It handled very well. The sound system (on DAB radio) was a bit poor compared to my current car system (Bose). Overall I thought it was a really good car, not sure if it's better than my S4 Avant, especially considering the age difference, but definitely worth buying.

The VIN plate says that the gross weight for the car is 2140Kg and gross train weight is 3940Kg which puts me in a bit of a dilemma as the towing limit is unfortunately only 1800 Kg. It was also disappointing to see that the VIN plate says SEAT not Cupra.

Because of the 1800Kg towing limit I may have to give it a miss or buy a suitably cheap tow vehicle as well.
